Wet abrasion enhancers

SYCO® wet abrasion enhancers are an innovative line of odor-free, zero VOC additives that have been developed to provide wet abrasion resistance and optimize leveling. They are able to promote gains of up to 80% in wet abrasion resistance, allowing a reduction up to 20% in the formula resin content and adjustments in coverage and spreading rate, without affecting other coating properties.

As a secondary action, wet abrasion enhancers can be applied as neutralizers, partially or totally replacing ammonium hydroxide and other alkalinizers in the system. In this way, they contribute to eliminate odor and VOC, in addition to allowing a reduction in the content of low shear thickeners.

A reduction in the formula cost and an increase in performance, being able to maintain PVC are also advantages of these product lines.

SYCO 800®

Chemical name: Inorganic compound

SYCO 800® is high solids, odorless, alkaline inorganic compound with a specific molar ratio to promote high wet abrasion resistance, optimize coating leveling and provide water resistance due to barrier formation.

SYCO 800® is a high-performance product, indicated to raise pH, which can replace partially or totally other alkalinizers in the formula, such as ammonium hydroxide, thus reducing unpleasant odor and facilitating handling during manufacturing. In addition, it can partially replace resin and thickener content in high and low PVC aqueous systems such as matte coatings, glosses, fillers, textures, waterproofing and adhesives.

Reduced formula cost and improved properties, while maintaining PVC, are the main differentials of the SYCO 800®.

SYCO 810®

Chemical name: Modified inorganic compound

SYCO 810® is an alkaline compound, odorless, with a specific molar ratio to improve high abrasion resistance, optimize coating leveling and provide water resistance due to barrier formation.

SYCO 810® can be indicated to raise pH and can replace partially or totally other alkalinizers in the formula, such as ammonium hydroxide, thus reducing unpleasant odor. In addition, it can partially replace resin and thickener content in high and low PVC aqueous systems such as matte coatings, glosses, fillers, textures, waterproofing and adhesives.

Reduced formula cost and improved properties, which can keep PVC, are the differentials of SYCO 810®.

SYCO 825®

Chemical name: Modified inorganic compound

SYCO 825® is an alkaline compound, odorless, with a specific molar ratio to improve high abrasion resistance, optimize coating leveling and provide water resistance due to barrier formation.

SYCO 825® is a high-performance product, indicated to raise pH, which can partially or totally replace other alkalinizers in the formula, such as ammonium hydroxide, thus reducing unpleasant odor. In addition, it can be used to partially replace resin and thickener content in high and low PVC aqueous systems such as matte coatings, glosses, fillers, textures, waterproofing and adhesives.

Formula cost reduction and properties improvement, which can keep PVC, are SYCO 825® differentials, and, among the SYCO® wet abrasion enhancers, this is the one with the greatest gain in wet abrasion resistance and water resistance.

SYCO 8045®

Chemical name: Inorganic compound

SYCO 8045® is an inorganic alkaline compound, with high fluidity, odorless, with specific molar ratio to improve high abrasion resistance, optimize coating leveling and provide water resistance due to barrier formation.

SYCO 8045® is a high-performance product, indicated to raise pH and can partially or totally replace other alkalinizers in the formula, such as ammonium hydroxide, thus reducing unpleasant odor and facilitating handling during manufacturing. In addition, it can be used to partially replace resin and thickener content in high and low PVC aqueous systems such as matte coatings, glosses, fillers, textures, waterproofing and adhesives.

Formula cost reduction and properties improvement, which can keep the PVC, are differentials of the SYCO 8045®.
